About Me

Education, Training, and Professional Background

I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from Amherst College in Massachusetts and went on to complete my Masters and Doctoral degrees at the University of Michigan Clinical Science (Psychology) Program. As part of my training in clinical psychology, I have worked with patients at the country’s top hospitals and medical centers and completed an internship/residency at New York Presbyterian/Weill Cornell. In my nearly decade of clinical experience, I have trained at sites including the University of Michigan Department of Psychiatry’s Women and Infants Mental Health Clinic and Veterans Affairs in both Ann Arbor and Manhattan. Additionally, I have taught required courses and self-designed seminars in the University of Michigan Department of Psychology. Following my time at the University, I continue to conduct psychological research and have published on a range of subjects including, most recently, parents’ theories about and reactions to their children’s behaviors and mental health in American Indian/Alaska Native communities.

Rarely, if ever, are any of us healed in isolation. Healing is an act of communion.
